Honey Creek Ranch News!

See, Mom?!? THAT'S what happens when you eat your vegetables!

The latest news and information from Honey Creek Ranch!

January 16, 2008 -  Honey Creek Ranch has a new employee. Sophie, a 3 month Red Healer puppy now is roaming the grounds and the ranch and Ron and Rosemary are quickly falling for her. Hopefully in the future she will earn her keep by rounding up the horses as needed.

January 16, 2008 -  Ron and Rosemary have finally finished there house on Honey Creek Ranch property and as of January 1, 2008 have moved to the new house. The old address of 336 CR 3542, Hawkins Texas is no longer any good. The new address for both personal and business mail is 8484 FM 46, Big Sandy, TX 75755. When you are in the area feel free to stop by and say howdy.

November 17, 2007 - Risky Business, the extremely talented carting
rookie at Honey Creek Ranch has returned to training after a 30 day lay off
due to his recent change in status from Stallion to Gelding. Risky's workout was slow paced and lasted for about 30 minutes but showed he still had it in him.  When ask by this reporter after his work out how he felt, he said, boy those up hill pulls were hard but I will get in shape for the 2008 show circuit.

November 11, 2007 -  the temperature reaching 80 degrees in mid-afternoon when Herman, a 5 foot alligator decided to rise to the surface of his pond at Honey Creek Ranch Texas and surprise the hell out of ranch owners, Ron and Rosemary Russell.  Ron, of course, wanted to keep him.  After all, how many people can say they have a 5 foot alligator on their farm. Rosemary, showing more common sense, put her foot down and let it be know that she was calling Texas State Wildlife in the morning to have them trap and remove old Herman. I still think he should be left alone but quickly found out who the boss of this place is.

October 16th, 2007 - Progress on the new house at Honey Creek is ahead of schedule and ranch owners Ron and Rosemary Russell are in high hopes they can move into the new home before Thanksgiving Holiday which is normally the third Thursday in November. The move will eliminate a dutiful 12 mile round trip between the current home and the ranch which is traveled 3 to 5 times daily. Also it will allow them more time with the horses.

October 14th, 2007 - New foal launched!   Tennessee Walking Horse mare Stardust Gold gave birth to a beautiful stud colt. The colt's father is Armed Son of a Gun whom is a beautiful palomino Stud who was World Champion Modeling Horse in 2003. Only one day old at the time of this news flash, it is too early to tell but if he is like any of the other colts that Armed Son of a Gun has thrown, his chances are good for going places in the show world. No name has been selected for registration but ranch personnel are already calling him Shooter so I assume that will be his barn name.

October 1st, 2007 - New foal launched! - Tennessee Walking Horse mare Generators Diamonds and Lace gave birth to a long legged black and white spotted stud colt that to date has shown a lot of promise both in his looks, gait and personally.  The new stud colt was sired by Paints Cotton who currently is standing stud at Walkers West in Terrell Texas.  Paints Cotton is a 16 hand black and white spotted stud that any Tennessee Walker fan would be proud to own and I am sure this offspring of his will be the same. We call the little one Cotton after his dad but are still looking for an appropriate name for registration.

September 9, 2007 - New foal launched!
There is a new little filly at Honey Creek Ranch.  She was born Sept. 8, 2007.  Her Dam is Frankly My Dear (Franky) who is a Prides Generator and Pusher mare, and her sire is Generators Charmer, the great stud at Walkers West. It was noticed from the beginning that this little filly has a very natural gait in her movement that must come from her sire.  We have no name yet but would love any suggestions. We are calling her Star because of the little star on her face but we are requesting Generators Morning Star or Honey Creeks Morning Star as her formal registered name.

New foal by Generator's Charmer, out of Frankly My Dear, born Sept. 9/2007
