| About Honey Creek
Ranch |
|

Honey Creek Ranch is dedicated to raising, breeding, showing, and providing a
safe and loving environment to Tennessee Walking Horses and miniature horses. We
strive to provide proper nourishment, medical care and attention to all our
horses whether they are ranch owned, on consignment or boarded. |
 |
Honey Creek Ranch was established in 2006 by
Ron and Rosemary Russell
who both have a love of horses going back to their childhood. From this love of
horses has grown a desire to operate a horse stable where they can provide for
horses in the manner they envisioned.
Both Ron and Rosemary are enthusiastic,
fun-loving adventurers who have pursued several
different types of excitement and or sports
during their 30 years of being together. They
are both certified pilots with Rosemary being
single engine qualified and Ron with single and
multi engine qualifications. |
|
|
Both own, love and ride
Harley Davidson motorcycles. Ron’s is a Street-Glide and
Rosemary’s is a Heritage. They have traveled most of these wonderful United
States of America, and in many foreign countries in South America, Central America,
Europe, Africa, They even made a few trips to Australia but all of this pales to the
excitement and feeling of well-being they get in running Honey Creek Ranch.
Traveling with them, is little
"Cassy"
- who is rarely far behind, and always eager to
be a part of everything Ron and Rose do.
|
| After a 2005 retirement from a 40 year law enforcement career, where Ron worked
as a patrol officer, crime scene photographer, undercover narcotics and vice
officer, supervisors, warden and later in the private sector management for a
private prison company, Ron and Rosemary traveled throughout the West and
Southwest searching for the perfect location to fulfill their dreams. That dream
came true when, by accident, they found the location where they began Honey
Creek Ranch. |

Also at Honey Creek Ranch is
Mr. Hartzel Black,
who is a master trainer especially with young horses. We are privileged to have him as
an advisor and trainer. |

Honey Creek Ranch is located just off State Hwy 49 near Hawkins Township in East
Texas. For those of you that have not been to the area of East Texas you might
be surprised to know that East Texas is covered in woods. Unlike West Texas,
East Texas is miles and miles of pines and hard wood trees with ponds and lakes
everywhere you look.
Lots of hills and valleys in East Texas and everything is green year-round.
Annual rainfall in East Texas exceeds 30 inches so no lack of water during a
normal year.
You don’t have to love horses to love the area so if you are traveling a road
that might bring you through East Texas, stop and say howdy to the Russell’s at
Honey Creek Ranch. Who knows you might fall in love with the area as quickly as
they did.
